With USC at 2-0 and Notre Dame 0-2, even though the 2022 season is still early, compared to this game shown all I can say is “What a difference a year makes”.

I went to this game and it was so much fun

Donte shows why he is an assistant. At one point, he did not look like he wanted to coach. Not energetic and assertive. Definitely not a motivator. Our D was confused, dazed, and mismatched. Slovis was sloppy. Fire both DC and OC. Air raid is not for slow and timid QB.

#95 MTA with the hands up & then a nice block on #18 who was going to make a quick tackle. Heads up, play!

USC is a different team in 2022. ND vs USC should be interesting.

I don't mind when teams take a knee. Towards the end. And maybe ND has a very slim chance of getting in the play off. But good grief when you're that close to the goal line just go for it. It looks a lot better on your resume when you beat USC by 20 plus points.

@Bill Morgan..the original poster is correct, once USC called a worthless timeout down by 15 with close to two minutes to go, all bets are off. And it’s not like USC ever ran the score up on Brian Kelly before, but in these instances he mostly shows up gutless.

USC wont help the ND resume , Stanford is the only common opponent between ND and USC and Stanford handily beat USC at the Coliseum. With the playoff formula USC will be a ball and chain anchor .

This is a C+/B- performance IMO: Offense should've put up well over 40 Touchdown at the end, interception that was honestly 50-50, and some goal-to-go/field goal struggles O-line played better for the 2nd consecutive week D played better than expected without Hamilton, but the D-line was overpowered in the 2nd half vs USC's O-line UNC is miles better than USC n we need to get to the quarterback more, especially Howell We're overachieving having one of the worst O-lines in the country but gotta improve if we want to contend for an NY6 GO IRISH!!!

I'd put it as B+. O-line looked better, as you said. I'd like to see Styles and Colzie get more time given that Austin's hands seem to turn into stone during critical situations, like that first drive. #22 runs with authority. He's gonna be a force to be reckoned with.

Meyer isn’t going to southern cal. The southern cal program (administration, boosters, alumni) want to control the football program and the coach they hire. Meyer is to good of a coach to have to deal with that problem. It’s kinda like the Texas job. Saban said he really considered going to Texas over Alabama but the program wants their hands on everything football related. It’s why they haven’t had a coach since Carroll left in 2009. I can’t see Meyer coaching at southern cal.

I don't watch nearly as much sports and college football as I did many years ago. It's lost it's luster, and some of it is "too much dynasty". I'm not hating on Alabama, but when it's this lopsided, where it's them every year and maybe one other team, like Clemson or LSU or perhaps Georgia or Ohio St and no one else has much hope of being NC, so many other games that used to be special just aren't as special as they used to be. This rivalry was always a national highlight when it was John McKay and Ara Parsegian or John Robinson and Lou Holtz. Same with Ohio St vs Michigan or Oklahoma vs Nebraska. You didn't have to be a fan of one of those teams to look forward to the rivalry games.

USC will be be a problem once they get a competent HC. I felt they had better athletes, just not the better team.

USC always had great athletes.. BUT.. they typically ignore the trenches and remember Freeman is recruiting well so that “ athletic advantage” you speak of will be nullified..

Well , we got out-gained by one of the worst USC teams in years but we got the "W". 🍀 This was another glorious win for my Fighting Irish , but I have a sinking feeling about next week's match up with North Carolina. Gulp ! GO IRISH !!!!!!! 💯🍀🍀🍀

ND is in a rebuild year. No Ian book, and the O line got replaced. I feel for ND fans however having waited for decades to have a title team. Seems odd that ND has not won a Ny-6 since 1994 as well

Irish whip up on inferior teams but just can't find a way to win against the big boys. That Cincinnati loss took the wind right out of this season. I don't care how many W's he racks up, Brian Kelly will never be a GREAT Notre Dame Head coach until he wins a National Championship.
