I've been an ND fan for over 50 years, but I really admire the Navy players and coach. They play so hard. It's a privilege to watch this game every year, and I look forward, again, to watching the Army-Navy game. ..Oh yeah. Go Irish!

Except for the decades of using ‘cut blocking’ technique because they obviously cannot recruit the type of athletes with the size, athleticism etc… that ND can along the OL & DL, the cut blocking is borderline cheap shot the lineman, and has cause numerous knee & other lower leg injuries over the years.

@@Willie_McBride facts man, army is even worse at this. It’s to the point I wish they would just play service vs service games only. Like I said they get away with this crap because everyone dare not ever say anything bad about our men and women in uniform. Yea whatever

@@misterceo2168 Army had been when they were a wishbone offense too. Maybe I haven’t seen them play recently, but I was under the impression that they had switched to a slightly more conventional offense. The whole Navy save ND during WWII is all true, & should not be overlooked, and there deserves to be mutual respect. I just dread that game. It’s lose lose lose for ND. If ND kills them the National take is ‘Why did ND beat up on poor Navy like that?’ If Navy wins, like during the Weis years, in ‘07, ‘09, & 2010… then ND is a laughingstock. And the third part of the ‘lose lose lose’ equation , is the real possibility of ND players getting injured (especially linemen) due to the very questionable tactics used by Navy in its blocking schemes.

@@anthonysouthlini8401 At this stage of the season, why would you do that? As unconventional as this 2 QB system is, it has been effective. Under what circumstances do you think Pyne is the answer? And I LOVE Drew Pyne!! He reminds me a lot of Ian Book. But to mess with the chemistry that you’ve got going now, it’s fools gold to think that replacing Buchner & Coan with Pyne is the way to go. 3 more games, & then a bowl game. Unless one of the other guys gets injured, Pyne has to ride, well,… the pine.

Samuel Frost you can be over Coan all you want. But yesterday he was 23/29 263 yds. & a td. And he made a bunch of great throws yesterday. The deep sideline route to Austin, was a great throw. The TD, while the result of seemingly blown coverage, due in large part to Jack looking off the safety, was still an excellent throw. The 2 pt. conversion throw to Lenzy was fantastic. Is he limited in what he can do? Sure.. But he’s still better equipped than Buchner to be the main guy. While the stories that Buchner “can’t throw” are obviously greatly exaggerated, he only had 1 or 2 pass attempts yesterday, he certainly adds an element to the rushing game that makes the offense difficult For opposing Defensive Coordinators to game plan against. Yesterday, Coan made no mistakes. Add in the fact that this year’s OL, pales in comparison to the last 6-8 years, and Coan was burdened with that early this season, he’s had 4 different LT’s, including 2 true Freshman, a converted guard & a redshirt sophomore, but he has still helped the new version of the OL to play cohesively… I think a lot of what he does is vastly overlooked just because he’s not Kenny Pickett, or Desmond Ritter. And the team looks to him as a leader, very rare for a 5th year senior transfer. He has gracefully accepted the time share role with Buchner. Thank God for Kyren Williams, who is just a special player, and Michael Mayer, who is a physical freak & probably too 3, if not the best TE in the country. They have both made the lives of both QB’s. much easier.

I hate that. Austin began his dancing on the 10 yard line. These grand standers are morrrrons. Then there was Williams who began his dancing on the one yard line and was stripped but did recover his stripped ball. When are these coaches going to teach these morrrrons to stop dancing when they get to the one yard line? Never, it looks like.
