Incredibly revisionist to conclude this - they performed well enough for a long period after the announcement. The bottom line is the squad still had gaps, were slightly overperforming, have dealt with injuries, and ultimately ran out of steam. None of which had anything to do with the announcement.

Jota being out and poor ref decisions haven't helped either. That pen not given against MC which clearly was one seemed to affect them. And Jota briefly being back was the one time we won.
I’ve been saying this. However, this is a classic case of hindsight being 20/20. The truth is, the players were over performing and now have regressed to actual levels. Still more rebuilding needed.
Yes. I love him and wish he was staying, he has overachieved at Liverpool looking at our net spend but the announcement timing was terrible. The players seemed to feel the weight of the world on their shoulders trying to win everything for him and our fans haven't been as focused on games it's all been about the next manager. He should have announced it after the final game.
They lost their shot at winning the league because they lost games to Crystal Palace and Everton, not because Klopp announced months ago that he'll be leaving after the season.
The question I have is why did he feel compelled to announce this in the middle of the season? The focus and media attention was much more weighted on him leaving versus the results. I think that weighs on the club after a while, they also feel obligated to 'win for him' & 'fairytale season' noise so when it is apparent that is not going to happen they fall apart. Do you think Salah mouths off to Klopp if he wasn't leaving?
