i think “fixed” is wrong to say; i would bet Todd’s instructions/thinking “first race back, don’t squeeze the lemon, May is the target” and we might see a much better effort in next; but the price was crazy short, suckers who bet that.

That race was the biggest fix on the whole derby trail, fierceness ran against nothing, stalked a crawling pace and was asked nothing of him in deep stretch. Clearly pletcher used this race which that intention of targeting the Florida Derby at a price that him and his owner pals could load up and make a killing, the odds in this race were right, he towered over this crap field, even money on him in the Florida Derby was an absolute gift against that lousy field

Handicappers need to remember these are just babies at this point barely older than 2 years old and should approach these races as though they are two year old races

6 impressed me ,he ran on and was bummed earliy. There was no speed at all. The 1 had a dream trip and is a nice horse ..

First quarter won the race !

Domestic product was the best horse in the race. The winner had a very easy lead on a slow pace. Domestic product was wrangled back and trapped on the rail then got shuffled back a little bit on the turn when the front end quickened, he made a good strong move, but the leader had too much left, because the pace was dawdling.

Domestic product seems to be another horse that can close in well. A lot of horses in this race had a bad start.

Agree 100% .. He even had trouble coming out of the gate . Closed into a race with no pace. This horse will only be better next out . One I ll keep track of

He closed into slow closing fractions. They went slow early and slow late in this race. Not an impressive prep at all.

I love seeing a closer who gets no pace close well and it s an angle I ve done very well on, Red Route One ,Tapwrit Big Truck all were horses who I ve won big with on using this angle. I m not sure he ll be a great horse but the potentials there and thats about all I can ask for..

I agree 😊 Sierra Leone has a lot more supporters internationally. I like Chasing Freedom & Honor Marie also, I'll throw in Fierceness in an exacta box 😅 just in case.

look how loose he had hades reins...lol he let him have his head and turned him loose!!!!

Not big on time but those splits were extremely slow.

Hades had Fierceness measured every step of the way. the race caller is funny...saying that Fierceness isn't yet out of second gear...Fierceness was in full gear and not going to pass the leader. These race callers are comical. The second place horse is one I would keep an eye on. Fierceness is a miler at best.

What is the track surface , dirt or synthetic, looks grey like synthetic.

My horse was awful.....no excuse... hindsight is always 20 20 when it comes to racing... but a horse coming off a layoff at a ridiculous short price is always one I will try to beat...I tried but picked the wrong one.. fierceness will move forward off this one.cant say I was overly impressed with the race or the field in general...if you had the winner...way to go... plenty of races to come....

Those fractions are t going to scare anyone.

That horse is small and can’t mix it up physically and win. If he doesn’t have a perfect break in the derby it’s over.

Fireceness had the lead, but couldn't maintain.

Pull the horse

Hades danced with this field on the front end and took them gate to wire. Fierceness got raced out of his shoes and finished third. Can you say overated? 🏇😅👌

Did you see Fierceness win the Florida Derby by the largest margin ever? Maybe not overrated but under restraint.

Did you see that? Fierceness 1/5 got abliterated. Beat Muth by 9. Lost his race before that by 33 in the race before the 😢Muth race. (Breeders Cup). Next Patient please

Pletcher said Fieceness start was poor and couldn’t get into the flow of the race? I’ve seen way worse starts than that and seemed like he got right up there, just fell flatter than a pancake, wish he would of finished fourth

weak excuse; “couldn’t get into the flow” just say he didn’t run well.Pletcher can be so conservative, that when finally asks talent to go in May, they’re not ready, his underachievements in TCR’s are ridiculous, but he does well with 3’s after June (i think) and the 4Yo’s. Has a big barn. Johnny V on his own would’ve pushed that colt, Todd gave him specific instructions to save him, i would bet. And that’s a shame for racing. We’ll never know the truth.

Not really . Todd dominates preps . Most all time in Florida derbies , Blue grass stakes , and Arkansas derby. Also I believe Louisiana derby. This was shocking

Well thankfully Fierceness wont have to meet Nysos at the Derby. The way he just won the Robert B Lewis by 7😮 We could be robbed of another Triple Crown winner. As long as he stays sound, no one will catch this colt.
