My family attended this game and the Notre Dame fans were polite and respectful before and after the game. Notre Dame is first class for visiting teams.

And to put the nail in the coffin ND season was effectively over after the loss to Marshall. They had no chance to compete in the playoff after that loss and that's still true.

Yeah, they just went out and played hard and didn't seem to make many mistakes. They weren't intimidated by Notre Dame, but Notre Dame seemed to overlook them, like they always seem to do with Group of 5 schools.

Notre Offense is surprising this season. I thought it would be better.

Mayer had no problem with that late TD. Had Buchner not thrown that pick 6 ND wins, though it wouldn't have been great in the world of style points. But hey, Riot State usually blows one to the Purdues and Northwesterns of the world. Big schools have to play like ND just did against Clemson or the other team will execute. Great effort by Huntington's Herd.

ND offense is noticeable but defense need to get their head in the game.

When you publicly disparage and under-appreciate your alma mater, this is what happens to you. It is humbling, but the football gods do not suffer hubris well.

Marshall RB was a big time recruit but got kicked off the team at Florida State

After our BLUDGEONING of Clemson yesterday (the performance of the day regardless of how in bed the 4 letter network is with SEC teams), we are STILL in disbelief that these are the same players. We were on All Madden mode vs Clemson, something unusual for ND today. But respect for ALL schools we play (you won't get beer thrown or the campus burned like at Ohio St) and congrats on the win. We certainly fixed a lot since then.

Big Marshall fan here - ND fans were some of the nicest fans I have encountered while on an away trip. Even after the game. Pure class. As for our team, this was a great day, but we have struggled this season! Looking to finish strong and finish up the year with a bowl win, hopefully. Good luck the rest of the way.

Would love for NBC to drop Notre Dame and give that media package to a power 5 conference like the sunbelt. That was Marshall’s cupcake game and Note Dames super bowl. I really don’t think Notre Dame is worthy of coverage after this. Marshall and App State are way more exciting to watch than these universities like Notre Dame and Texas A&M, where NIL money those players get are more than most peoples salaries 🫥

True. The problem is that even when ND had Kelly coaching, he could never find THAT GUY AT QUARTERBACK. That's why no team feared them. When they get to the playoffs, Bama and Clemson always whip the butts, because the Irish QBs can't read coverages or make secondaries pay for blitzing.

More proof of the problems with the Rivals "star system" of rating talent. There's a tremendous amount of talent out there each year that goes unnoticed or grossly under-ranked by Rivals. A good eye for talent on the coaching staff of these smaller schools can produce teams like this by picking those out who fell through the cracks.
