Great job, Notre Dame! That's the best this team has looked all year. Confident, poised, energetic, alive, and executing beautifully. 6 blocked punts?! That's incredible. And they did all this against 4th ranked, undefeated Clemson. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving team. Let's keep it going, Irish!

I am a Michigan season ticket holder but I LOVE Notre Dame too! Don't ever count out ND because the team has a great tradition of winning and always has fantastic athletes and coaching! It was an exciting game and a decisive win over an excellent Clemson team. I have been to South Bend to watch games and it is always "magical". Go Irish! 🙂🙂🙂🙂

Everyone was wondering if the Marcus Freeman hiring would pay off or not for Notre Dame. The slow start to the season had skeptics worried,but look at them now. Freeman has Notre Dame playing good football and his defense is flying around everywhere! If Notre Dame can recruit a top prospect at QB next season they will be very good. It’s good to see them trending in the right direction.

Much needed win for Notre Dame. Great way to turnaround the season

As a Clemson fan, this was a straight up beat down. Our DC and OC called the worst game in history and ND came prepared. We were out-coached and out played all game.

Clemson was a thorn that everyone in the top 6 wanted out. Them losing helped alot of teams above and below them.

I think LSU and UGA meet in Atlanta, UGA dawg walks the corn dogs. TCU drops a game to bevo and misses out. Oregon will probably win the pac, but not make it in the top 4 unless the Michigan Ohio state game is a blowout. Could be looking at UGA, Ohio State, Tennessee, Michigan.

That is THE best defensive play I've seen against a highly ranked team in some time. OUTSTANDING play ! And shows what being well prepared and defensive planning can pay off when well executed. Congrats Notre Dame !

Great win for Notre Dame! Complete dominance. However, the highlights failed to show how Notre Dame's offensive line just bullied Clemson's all American stud defensive line all game long. Notre Dame pounded the ball right down their throats and there was nothing they could do about it. Notre Dame was by far the more physical team. I believe they have the best offensive line in the country by far. We already know they have the best tight end in the country. Now you can say they may have the best special team's unit in the country as a whole. Also, they have a top defense as well. The defense has been very good and strong all season. The scary part is, this team continues to get better every week. keep the momentum going! Go Irish! God Bless!!

As a USC Gamecock fan this was fun to watch.

I remember when ND was 0-2, and instead of people giving freeman room to improve and grow, he was called a diversity hire. There was no reason to call him that, he was the DC the year prior. Most programs promote either their OC or DC when a coach leaves unexpectedly or gets fired. Either way, it’s great how they were able to turn this season around.

Based on his recruiting alone real fans were going to be patient and let this play out. Sports culture in general has really become "what have you done for me today" with their attitude. Marcus Freeman is going to build a dominant, fast football team, something extremely difficult to do with their academic standards

nah, I had been saying for weeks that clemson wasn't the team to fear this year. they had an easy schedule and weren't really blowing teams out the way they should've been, and with how they had struggled against syracuse just for us to whoop them the week after sealed the deal in my book

Notre Dame's Catholic roots and practice of accepting Irish students when they were heavily discriminated against in the US led to the term 'Fighting Irish' to be used to derogatorily refer to the student body, and was eventually adapted as part of the school's identity.

Dabo is a class act after a tough loss.

Pleasantly surprised how Notre Dame has improved. This is not one of Clemson's best teams but still, a Notre Dame rout is a big surprise.

Learning curve I guess, weird one yeah, but this is freeman's first year as a head coach, new staff in general, not much experience in some key locations, mainly receivers early (who've really improved). Im excited to see what freeman will do

20 is a beast

Nothing at all against Drew Pyne, but I do wonder what this team looks like with an Elite QB? I mean, because we have some really good WRs, and at least 2 or 3 TEs who can dominate both Recieving and Blocking... And obviously the Running game is elite. The O-line has finally gelled and is playing as we all thought they would in the beggining of the season. The Defense is stout as long as the Offense doesn't leave them on the field for long stretches. And Special Teams? Forget it! They're awesome! So again... what do they look like with an elite QB?

Frankly, I don’t even care if this was one of Clemson’s weaker teams compared to past ones, the fact that Notre Dame laid the beat down on them is encouraging all on its own. If Freeman can build off this win and get some key pieces in the recruitment phase, he might sincerely bring Notre Dame out of the pretenders bracket and be a real threat in the upcoming years. Excited to see how this turns out

And if they played 9 more times following that game, Marshall loses them all. And probably the next 90 too. It happened. It’s in the past. IMO the Stanford loss hurts more. They had no team identity when they played Marshall. But they just looked unprepared and disinterested versus Stanford, and there are no excuses for that and should NEVER happen. But good on them as they haven’t since

Earlier in the season I blamed ND's critical losses on #20 defensive end but today, most astonishingly, he almost singlehandedly powered the ND win, as well as w/ the rest of the team.

CBS extended highlights of Georgia vs Tennessee, 25 minutes. NBC's "extended" highlights of Clemson vs Notre Dame only 8 minutes. Apparently NBC doesn't understand the concept of "extended".

Clemson would have needed to perform better for there to be anything more to add to the reel. It was basically three plays and punt half a dozen times. NBC literally showed every major play of the game for both teams.

NBC is pretty happy. Finally their investment in Notre Dame football paying off little bit.

Great game the difference in Notre Dame winning tonight was the demeanor of Marcus Freeman on the sidelines if you go back and watch the losses especially the Stanford and Marshall he just seemed like he had a negative demeanor the whole time it was kind of pouting during the game but that's growth as a head coach and I'm really happy because there was some big time recruits in attendance for the game tonight AND YES IM Speaking ABOUT PEYTON BOWEN HE DOESN'T WANT TO COMMIT FULLY TO NOTRE DAME AFTER TONIGHT HE WAS NEVER GOING TO BUT HERE'S THE HOPING HE STAYS COMMITTED AND FOLLOWS THROUGH ON IT BECAUSE HE IS A GAME-CHANGING PLAYER ON DEFENSE ALSO BENJAMIN MORRISON WHAT CAN I SAY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT JADEN MICKEY ALL YEAR BUT IF YOU GO ON THE NOTRE DAME BLUE AND GOLD MESSENGER BOARDS I'VE BEEN SCREAMING BENJAMIN MORRISON ALL YEAR ONCE HE GETS HIS CHANCE FOR PLAYING TIME HE'S JUST AN INSTINCTIVE FOOTBALL PLAYER AND I'M PROUD OF HIM And MICHAEL MAYER TOP TEN PICK Next YEAR IN THE NFL DRAFT GREAT GAME, ONE THING I WILL SAY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY NICE TO SEE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF NOTRE DAME RUSHING THE BALL FOR $260 YARDS AND CONTROLLING THE GAME CLOCK AGAINST CLEMSON NOW WE JUST GOT TO BE NAVY BOSTON COLLEGE AND THEN BEAT USC AT THE END OF THE YEAR TO FINISH NINE AND THREE AND TO MAKE A NEW YEAR'S SIX BOWL GAME

UM fan here. My Thanks to ND for showing the world how bad Clemson really is. Also very happy to see your team turning the corner and finding some success this season. I hope one day your team joins the B1G (yes I know it will never happen) and let's us renew my personal favorite rivalry. GO ORISH! GO BLUE!

Notre Dame joining the Big 10 has been something I've wanted to see for decades. They'd be the perfect fit and are in Big 10 country already. ND joining the ACC (in basketball only I think, so weird) was such a letdown.

@@jamaalhaymon8161 best of luck. We are all fighting against the ESPN/SEC/CFP Money Monster. Right now the committee is trying to figure out how to get four SEC teams in the final playoffs and the only way to avoid it is to try to stay undefeated. They will take one loss SEC teams over anybody else anytime. UGA deserves it. They are the only team in that conference playing defense.

Who has Michigan played this whole season to not consider you over rated also? Clemson would put more of fight then your team ever will I mean last year playoffs speak for itself. Yes Clemson is over rated but Michigan is definitely not too far behind

Looks like Clemson's reign as a football powerhouse is really over , I haven't seen them get beaten this bad in a while. 💯 The whole ACC looks pretty weak after Syracuse , Clemson and Wake all fell this weekend. 💯 This is a great win but I have a bad feeling about the upcoming game with Navy ⚓. I am an Ohio State fan but follow ND as closely as I can. FWIW I do not think you have reason to worry about the Navy game. ND's D was playing fast and aggressive D. Really strong performance that Freeman will continue to build on.

The Big10 is like any other major conference. Two good teams yearly, maybe a third, but the rest suck. And I mean really suck. Look how much they’ve been pumping up Illinois. What has Bret Bielama consistently done whenever he’s been?? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Notre Dame would go into their house and grind them down just like they did their last two teams. And don’t get me started on Michigan, they win an outright championship for the first time since 2003 and if you listen to their fans they’ve done it a dozen times. Then they get embarrassed worse than ND has in any BCS game.
