Cody’s Wish’s last race, he wins in a thriller by a nostril. Cody passes away a day later, right after his horse becomes a breeders cup champion. It’s almost like he was hanging on to see his horse win one final time. It’s absolutely heartbreaking and in a way poetic. This story is one for the ages. RIP Cody. Much love to you and your family.

Never underestimate the love for a boy and his horse... Cody held on just long enough to see that little colt grow up and go out a Champion.. To the connections with Cody's Wish. You have no idea how many loves you touched. To Cody's family you are loved

I'm celebrating Cody's Wish's final race, incredible comeback, and epic win, and simultaneously sobbing, knowing Cody was there to see it and see his friend one last time before he passed away. I'm so sorry for your loss, Dorman family. Sending so many prayers of comfort your way.

A sad ending, unfortunately. In the same week that Cody's wish retired, Cody passed away. Very sad, but somehow poetic. RIP little man.

A story for the ages. Class, emotionally compelling, and true bravery on everyone. A loving family, a national Make a Wish organization, a farm willing to make his wish come true, a secretary who suggested the name, the horse's owners and everyone who worked on the boy and the horse to make his dreams come true. The climax of his young life and the heartbreak of his death. Who doesn't have a heart for this amazing story? Who has dry eyes today? I don't!

It's so sappy if it was on TV. Fighting the tears right now

The SA track was lighting fast, NT and Skippy ran 1-2 and the only horse that closed into the speed bias was Cody as you can see the dirt in his face. On a side note, Cody's raced a lot and his figs were regressing, while the 3 years old are getting faster and he still won! A very classy horse!

Oh my god im bawling my eyes out, they made plans to speed his birthday with Cody’s Wish. I wish I could hug this entire family

Cody's wish and Afleet Alex are my favorite two horses of all time, not because both were (are) 2 amaizing good talented running horses , but because they were heavely attached to 2 wonderful kids, Alexandra (Alex) Scott ❤ and Cody Doorman❤.

Absolutely torn about the loss of Cody, but in the same breath, I'm happy that in his final hours that he was able to be at Santa Anita to watch his friend and namesake close out his racing career as a champion, just like Cody himself. My condolences to the Dorman family on the loss of there courageous young son. Cody may be gone, but his legacy will go on with Cody's Wish. SIP young man

I get the feeling Cody's body wanted to release his spirit earlier, but Cody was determined to see his champion horse win one more time. And willed himself to be there one more time, before departing to heaven (where people have no physical illnesses).

Congratulations to Godolphin, Dorman Family, Bill Mott, Junior Alvarado, and of course Cody’s Wish on a nail bitter of a win. But it is such a loss of Cody Dorman’s passing, it is beautiful friendship and story that Cody and this beautiful brown horse share, something out of a Hollywood script. But I am relieved to know that Cody is Heaven where he is no longer in suffering and pain and he walks with God and soon they will be together. Thoughts and prayers to the Dorman and again congratulations on a beautiful race, career, & story 💙🙏🏻🏇🏻

The boy goes to a horse farm the only horse that comes close to him is this special horse who ends up racing and winning in the Breeder cup.Thats Devine intervention. Cody's Parents have more faith than you. His dad thanked God. Maybe you need to thank the Good lord that you didn't go thru what this young man went through.Instead of blasphemy your Creator.
