They could be more clear about it, but here such things are pretty common here in Europe. Mainly doing charity stuff, but mainly former retired players.

As a Brazilian who plays football for fun, I can guarantee by ball control and general skill that this men's team is very weak and probably would lose to any team in the Brazilian third division.

Definitely! i used to play college soccer in Cuba, and after i graduated i was working at a beach ressort and once we had a team of brazilian female players as guests and we were hugely impressed with the skills level all together. the physicality is always a subject aside, but wow they were incredible. but yeah! Brazil is in a league of its own...

@@TheycallmedoorwayI highlighted the weaknesses of the men's team to reinforce the argument that the disparity in strengths between male and female soccer is so great that a visibly inferior men's team can impose a humiliating victory on the best women's team. I was telling my wife that in order to make soccer more popular in the USA they need to make the field smaller and get rid of offsides. I had no idea that this tournament was a thing. I will always prefer regular soccer, but with Americans obsession of high scoring type sports and the inability to appreciate the sportsmanship of a tied match, this is great for the sport. I wouldn’t be surprised if this version of soccer explodes.

Because it's reductive and doesn't speak for all of us, and you know that. The thing with the USA people, including ourselves, forget is that it's over 340 million people large where the fact that the viewership of an LCS over here can reach around 10-15million people because of the sheer size of the differences of likes and dislikes of different sports and competitions of people in this country is. You can get the 60 million people watching the Super Bowl, 20-30 million that end up watching the NBA, NHL, and the world series, and around roughly the same number of 60 million people in the US watching the world cup, very casually I don't know what Ted Lasso taught you about how us as Americans like our sports, but just like how tennis got simplified for pickleball of all things, that doesn't mean the actual sport of football/soccer isn't as NOT popular as you think in this country. Messi, Ronaldo, Beckham, Mbappe, and even a Rashford, Haaland, Sala, and Kane are borderline household names akin to if Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Derek Jeter, and Kyrie Irving were all hanging out in Manhattan or something Just because a sport isn't the most popular sport in this country, doesn't mean everyone disrespects it. Have a little class, and don't reduce yourself just because everyone you know doesn't happen to know what an offside is. It's not like I expect people to know what a wavedash is in Tekken and Smash Bros that watching a high level match in both of those video games wouldn't be hype. Have some class, and if you're older, well, time to learn that the United States isn't just one demographic of people, lol.

As a former football player, this is the dumbest version of the game I have ever seen, but then again this is the Woke Democratic States of America where the game needs to be modified to make everyone be a winner.

I don't see the problem here at all, smaller goals smaller field. lots more shots on target. Way more inclusive as well to people to get to play the game. Maybe the target score rule is silly but overall the style of play is just fine tbh.
